The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. The next census takes place on Sunday 21 March 2021.
For the first time people 16+ will be asked a voluntary question on sexual orientation and gender identity. You're able to request an individual census questionnaire to make sure your voice is heard!
Need help completing the census?
From this week every household in Lambeth will receive a letter letting people know how they can take part in the census. This is a once-a-decade survey of England and Wales which helps to support policy making, plan public services and inform where billions of pounds are spent, for example, on roads, schools, hospitals and now services that will support our community.
Each household must fill in the census by law.
